I am curious if you do not use the ipmp configuration, do you have stability issues?

I am currently configuring a similar box, 2 on-board nics and 2 intel PRO 1000 MT dual port cards. I have aggrigated 1 on-board port and 1 intel port, for my managment interface. If I have the managment interface in a tpg all alone, the iscsi functions great. If I add the other on-board port to the tpg, iscsi still functions as expected. When I add a single intel port to the tpg, the system reboots without any panics or savecore dumps.

So I guess since you are using the same cards, or similar cards, did you have similar experience. the releases that I have tried are 2009.06 and snv-129. I get the same results with both.

I believe I rulled out power supply issues, as I have set the bios to stay powered off if it loses power, and it reboots when it crashes.
